Trust In Me by J. Lynn

She jerked upright. Deep auburn hair flew forward, snapping me in the face. The scent off berries and something musky and good filled me.
Holy shit, Strawberry Shortcake just ran me over.
~Trust In Me

Cameron Hamilton is used to getting what he wants, especially when it comes to women. But when Avery Morgansten comes crashing into his life – literally – he finally meets the one person who can resist his soulful baby blues. But Cam’s not ready to give up. He can’t get the feisty and intriguing girl out of his head.

Avery has secrets, secrets that keep her from admitting the feelings Cam knows she has for him. Will persistence (and some delicious homemade cookies) help him break down her barriers and gain her trust? Or will he be shut out of Avery's life, losing his first real shot at the kind of love that lasts forever?

Arya: Alright, I was totally stoked for this book to come out from the moment I knew it was actually becoming a book. I mean, really, Wait For Me was already an awesome book, but getting to read it from Cam's point of view? Definitely the highlight of my week.
I actually really liked this book... but not as much as I thought I would. For a lot of it, I felt as if Jennifer was just listing the events as we saw in Wait For Me, but she didn't put much of Cam's emotions or thoughts into it as she did for Avery in the original, which was the entire point of the novella. It was a bit upsetting, not seeing his emotions out there on display, and more than that, she didn't explain the cookie obsession! I still don't know what cookies are a code for! That was rather annoying for me. However, for the parts where she did describe our lovely male's thoughts, it was mind-blowing. I drank up every word of it greedily, and there were seriously parts in the story where I thought I'd burst into tears... which was pretty strange since I was reading it in the middle of class... Yeah, I'm not a great role model x'D. Anyway, the way she described him, the detail and the immensity of his heartbreak and adoration just completely blew me away! I loved every single minute of it. I only mourn the fact that there weren't more of those scenes. I mean seriously, who doesn't love a guy who says he's going to marry a girl just after seeing her dance at a party and means it? It definitely turned me into a pile of mush. There's also the fact that there were so many scenes in the book that weren't in the original, and it gave us a new outlook on Cam and Avery, and their relationship. It just made me love them all the more with their cutesy scenes. But again, this book, while perhaps not Jennifer's best work, was definitely somewhere near the top of the list. I loved every single second I spent on this, even though a lot of it just seemed like listing events, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone into romance.

What's my rating? It's really very simple...
8.5 stars out of 10! Congrats!

Until next time! Keep reading and exploring the Infinite Worlds
Much love,
~Arya
